Malibu Colony

Malibu Colony -- first known in the 1920s as the "Malibu Beach Motion Picture Colony" -- is unique in Malibu due to its status as the city's first celebrity community.  Still protected by guard houses and beach patrols, Malibu Colony is home to many notables from entertainment and business.  Despite the developments that have taken place on all sides, many of the homes in the Colony still retain their 20s and 30s quaintness.  Lots are in constant demand for their exclusiveness, seclusion, and excellent stretches of beach.  The Colony is near the center of town, walking distance from shopping and restaurants, and close to the Malibu Canyon Road, the most direction route from Malibu to the 101 freeway into downtown Los Angeles.
