La Costa Beach in Malibu California

La Costa Beach lies between central Malibu and Santa Monica.  This narrow strip of beach homes runs west from the Rambla Pacifico commercial area, directly bordered by Pacific Coast Highway itself.  Several of the homes have been significantly upgraded like those in La Costa's neighboring community, Carbon Beach.  The La Costa Beach & Tennis Club makes its home in the area as well.  La Costa Beach was originally part of the La Costa development, the first neighborhood laid-out in Malibu, and one that included a significant amount of inland property as well.  The Great Depression slowed real development for years, but many of the streets in the area, such as Las Flores and Rambla Pacifico, still retain their original names.
