Malibu Realty Charitable Foundation Donates to Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School
Michael Novotny, General Manager of Prudential Malibu Realty, recently presented Principal Chi Kim, Kerry Hernandez, VP of Fundraising and Robyn Ross, PTA President, of Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School with a donation in support of the school's funding for instructional assistants in the classroom. Due to the increase in class size from the state's budget crisis, having instructional assistant support in the classrooms allows all levels of learners to get more individualized instruction from the classroom teacher. PDMSS is ranked in the top 5% of schools in the state of California. Their highly qualified and professional staff of teachers, aides, and specialists work collaboratively to ensure that each child is afforded the highest quality, well rounded academic program to bridge learning with real world applications. PDMSS' goal is to model sustainability, for our planet and our community. PDMSS students have enriched the lives of hundreds of people around the globe through student-driven community service projects: installing solar panels to power up PDMSS, advocating for environmental actions to save our planet via beach cleanup, waste-free lunches, reducing, reusing, and recycling, building a school in Afghanistan via Pennies for Peace, sending an Ark to remote villages via Heifer International, and beginning an organic edible garden.
